Explanation
Psalm 2 is a royal psalm celebrating the coronation of Israel's king as God's representative on earth. The nations rise in rebellion against the Lord, but he answers with absolute authority. Verse 7 reveals that the king was adopted as God's son and received the nations as his inheritance. For Christians, this psalm points to Jesus, the beloved Son in whom God's reign is fully fulfilled. Human rebellion against God is futile, yet he offers refuge and blessing to all who accept him. Today we are invited to make the wise decision: to serve the Lord with reverence and find shelter in his grace.
