The prologue of John is one of the deepest passages in the whole Bible. John affirms that the Word, who was with God from the beginning, became flesh and dwelt among us. The incarnate Word did not appear as a shadow or symbol, but as a real, visible and tangible person. The word dwelt recalls the tabernacle, where God lived in the midst of the people. In Jesus, the glory of God became something we can contemplate and know. He came so that eternity and divinity would be set before our eyes.
