This is the darkest of the psalms, a cry of anguish with no apparent answer. The verse opens with a persistent plea: Lord, you are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out before you. The psalmist faces a darkness that does not lift, yet he keeps praying. Here faith is not the absence of pain but the presence of God in pain. Today, many go through long nights of suffering and need to know that honest weeping is also prayer. The psalm offers no easy answers, but it teaches that God endures our groans. Even when everything seems silent, confident crying remains an act of faith.
