The psalm remembers David's commitment to build a house for the Lord: Lord, remember David and all his self-denial. The psalm celebrates the divine choice of Zion and the covenant with the king. The promise made to David points to the coming of the Messiah, the eternal king. Today, this verse teaches us that God honors sincere devotion. David sought a place of worship for the Most High, and the Lord answered with blessings. The house of God is also our heart, the dwelling place of the Spirit. When we seek the Lord's presence with priority, he reveals himself. Divine faithfulness fulfills every promise in due time.
