The final psalm of the ascents summons the servants who keep watch at night: Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who minister by night in the house of the Lord. Worship does not cease when night falls. The psalm celebrates the faithfulness of those who serve in the vigil. Today, this verse reminds us that praise can happen at any moment. God is worthy of blessing even in the silent hours. Those who keep watch in the Lord's presence are seen and valued by him. Lifting our hands in the sanctuary is an expression of surrender and dependence. The blessing that returns from the Lord reaches all his people.
