Proverbs 12:25
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Explanation

Solomon shows sensitivity to the inner world of people. Anxiety is compared to a weight that bows the heart down and weakens it little by little. This picture is common to human life, both in biblical times and today. The second half reveals the power of a good word: a depressed person can be made glad by someone who speaks wisely. Our words have the power to lift or to crush. We do not need great speeches; sometimes a word of encouragement at the right moment changes someone's day. Today we are invited to be carriers of good words. A sentence of hope can be God's answer to an anxious heart.
