With a simple image, Solomon points to nature as a teacher of wisdom. The ant is small, yet it works without anyone commanding it: it gathers in summer and prepares for the harvest. The sluggard, by contrast, lives by postponing and waiting for everything to happen on its own. The lesson is not only about work but about the diligence born of responsibility. The wise do not wait for perfect conditions; they act steadily while there is time. This text asks us how we use the days God gives us, for there is a time to sow and a time to reap. Today we are invited to imitate the ant: simplicity, discipline, and perseverance.
