Today
Isaiah 31:1
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Explanation

Isaiah chapter 31 strongly rebukes Judah for seeking military help in Egypt, trusting in horses and chariots of war. The problem was not seeking resources but forgetting to look to the Holy One of Israel, the only one who can truly save. God makes clear that human strength, however impressive, does not guarantee security. The lesson remains current: how often do we trust in methods, people, and strategies without first seeking God? Verse 3 reminds us that the Egyptians are men, not God; their horses are flesh, not spirit. Today we are challenged to put the Lord first in all our decisions. True protection depends on whom we look to and in whom we trust.
