Explanation
Isaiah chapter 37 shows Hezekiah receiving the threatening letter from the king of Assyria and carrying it to the temple, laying the problem before God. His prayer asks not only for deliverance but that all kingdoms may know that the Lord is God. Hezekiah's focus was not only his own safety but the glory of the Lord's name. This prayer teaches us that we can hand over to God the threats that frighten us. The divine answer came powerfully, and Jerusalem was delivered without a battle. Today, when facing fears and pressures, we can pray with the same confidence. God rises up when we place his name above our worries.
