Psalm 16 is an expression of David's trust in the Lord as his portion. Verse 8 says: I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. The key is constancy: not only in times of crisis, but always. When God occupies the center of our vision, threats lose their power to shake us. The Lord's presence at our right hand means constant protection and guidance. This psalm was quoted in the New Testament concerning Christ, who trusted the Father fully. Today we can cultivate that habit: keeping the Lord before our eyes in every decision and living without fear of falling.
