Isaiah 46:4 — Sunday, October 4, 2026

Isaiah chapter 46 contrasts the idols of Babylon, which must be carried by men, with the living God who carries his people. The pagan gods were weights the worshipers had to transport. Verse 4 reveals a totally different God: even to your old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. From birth to old age, God creates, carries, and delivers. No stage of life is outside his care, neither childhood nor old age. Today we can trust that the hand that formed us will hold us to the end. The one who carries our days does not grow weary and does not abandon us.
