Chapter 28 recounts Jesus' resurrection and the meeting with the disciples in Galilee. Before departing, Jesus delivers the mission that defines the church: make disciples in all nations. Baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit points to the work of the whole Trinity in salvation. Teaching them to obey everything he commanded is the heart of discipleship. That mission is not the privilege of a few, but the calling of all who follow Jesus. What we received freely, we are sent to share.
