Explanation
Chapter 13 gathers the parables of the kingdom of heaven, told to reveal and at the same time test the listeners. In the parable of the hidden treasure, a man finds something valuable and sells everything to acquire the field. The joy and value of the find outweigh any sacrifice. The kingdom of God is not one part of life, but the greatest good that reorganizes everything. Finding Jesus makes old treasures lose their shine. It is worth giving up everything for what has eternal value.
