In chapter 11, Lazarus falls ill and dies, and Jesus arrives after four days, when many have already lost hope. Martha receives Jesus with the grief of one who says everything could have been different. Jesus answers with a declaration that opens horizons: he is the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in him lives, even though he dies, and everyone who lives and believes will never die. Death does not have the final word for those who are in Christ. Jesus is the hope that reaches even the edge of the grave.
