In chapter 14, Jesus comforts the disciples troubled by the news of his departure. Thomas asks how to know the way, and Jesus answers with a unique statement: he himself is the way, the truth and the life. Access to the Father does not go through methods or philosophies, but through a person. Jesus is the way because in him is the truth about God and the life that comes from him. No one comes to the Father except through him, not out of exclusivism, but out of the heart's need. Christ is the door through which all humanity is invited to enter.
