Psalm 32 is one of Paul's most beloved psalms, which he quoted when speaking of justification by faith. Verse 1 opens with a beatitude: blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. David wrote this psalm after confessing his sin with Bathsheba, experiencing the weight of guilt and the joy of forgiveness. God's forgiveness does not hide sin; it covers it with his grace. Hiding our wrongs brings pain, but confessing them brings relief and peace. This verse invites us to leave guilt before God and to receive his pardon. There is no greater blessing than being reconciled with the Father.
