Psalm 41 is the conclusion of the first book of Psalms and deals with mercy toward the needy. Verse 1 says: blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in the day of evil. David teaches that God cares about how we treat the vulnerable. Helping the poor is not only a social duty; it is an act of faith that awakens divine care. Those who are compassionate experience God's compassion. That blessing includes deliverance, protection, and care in difficult days. Generosity opens channels of blessing in our lives. Today we can look around us and practice concrete mercy. In God's kingdom, giving is the way to receive.
