Psalm 51 is David's prayer after his sin with Bathsheba, when Nathan confronted him. Verse 10 is the central cry: create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. David asks not only for forgiveness but for inward transformation. He recognizes that the problem is deeper than behavior; it reaches the heart. Only God can create purity where there was impurity and renew what was broken. This verse expresses sincere repentance, which does not hide the wrong or minimize the sin. God's grace does not only cleanse; it re-creates. Today we can ask for the same work in us. A clean heart is the greatest treasure we can receive.
