Psalms 61:2 — Monday, March 2, 2026

Psalm 61 was written by David in a moment of discouragement, perhaps when he was far from home and from God's presence in the tabernacle. Verse 2 says: from the end of the earth I cry to you, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. David acknowledges his weakness and seeks a safe place that he cannot build alone. The higher rock represents the strength and protection that only God can give. When the heart fails, we need a direction that comes from above. Praying is not a sign of weakness; it is the door to strength. Today, when courage fails, we can cry out to the Lord. He leads us to the safe place.
