The psalm is a call to justice: God stands among the rulers of the earth and demands righteousness from them. The final verse cries: Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance. It is the certainty that judgment belongs to the Lord and that he will care for the weakest. The psalm denounces those who abuse power and oppress the needy. Today, this verse reminds us that justice is not only a human work but above all a divine one. When injustice seems to win, the righteous can trust: the Lord rises up and judges in truth. That is why we fight for justice without losing hope in God.
