Psalms 126:1
“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.”
Published on May 6, 2026 at 11:00
Explanation
The psalm remembers the restoration of Zion: When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. The return seemed like a wonderful dream. The people's mouths were filled with laughter and song before God's great work. Today, this verse teaches us that the Lord also restores our captivity. Seasons of emotional and spiritual exile are transformed by divine grace. The Lord's restoration fills the heart with joy again. When God acts, the impossible becomes a testimony of his goodness. May our mouths be filled with laughter, for the Lord has done great things.
