Psalms 127:1
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

Explanation
The psalm opens with an essential truth: Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Every human effort is futile without divine blessing. The psalm, attributed to Solomon, celebrates dependence on God in family and work. Today, this verse teaches us that true success is born of the Lord's blessing. We can plan and work, but it is God who gives growth. The safety of children and the support of the home depend on divine grace. Entrusting our projects to God is not passivity but wisdom. Whoever builds with the Lord builds on a sure foundation.
