Proverbs 29:25
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.”

Explanation
Solomon identifies a silent trap: the fear of people. The fear of man is the excessive concern about what others will think. That fear brings a snare: it makes us change our position and hide our convictions to please people. Living like that is living trapped. The contrast is with those who trust in the Lord: they find safety, because their identity does not depend on the approval of others. The text does not teach us to disrespect people but to avoid being enslaved by their opinion. Trust in God gives courage to do what is right. Today we are invited to examine whose approval we seek. When the Lord is our refuge, fear loses its grip.
