Genesis 8:22
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Explanation

After the flood, God makes a promise of stability that sustains all of history. While the earth remains, the cycles of nature will continue: seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter. That constancy is a sign of God's faithfulness, who does not abandon his creation. The verse also teaches about the order of life: there is a time to plant and a time to harvest, a time of waiting and a time of fruit. Nature, with its cycles, is a silent witness to the divine promise. Today we are invited to trust in God, who keeps the world in order. Even when the days seem uncertain, his promises remain. The God of the seasons cares for our lives.
