Before dying, Jacob blesses the sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. The verse holds the patriarch's blessing: God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day. Jacob summarizes his story in one sentence: God sustained him all his life. He entrusts the future of his grandchildren to the One who always cared for him. The text shows that true faith is transmitted when we tell what God has done for us. The blessing was not based on Jacob's wealth but on the faithful God of generations. The same God would care for his descendants. Today we are invited to recognize that God has sustained us to this point. Our story is a testimony for the coming generations.
