Isaiah chapter 14 continues the oracle against Babylon and celebrates the end of the oppressor's tyranny. In a tone of satire, the prophet describes the fall of Babylon's king, called Lucifer, son of the morning, who wanted to climb above the stars and be like the Most High. Christian tradition also sees in this text the origin of Satan's pride, who challenged God. The central lesson is clear: whoever exalts himself will be humbled, because God opposes the proud. The same pride that toppled kingdoms can grow silently in our hearts. Today the invitation is to cultivate humility, remembering that all glory belongs to God.
