Psalms 18:2

Explanation

Psalm 18 is David's song after God delivered him from all his enemies, including Saul. In verse 2 he piles up images of safety: rock, fortress, deliverer, shield, stronghold, and refuge. Through years of danger, David learned that God is more than enough. Each title reveals an aspect of divine protection: firmness, strength, deliverance, defense, and shelter. That confidence was not born from theory but from experience. We, too, can look at our story and recognize the times God sustained us. In the middle of storms, the Lord remains our rock. Today we can renew this confession with faith.
