Psalm 19 begins by contemplating creation as a silent sermon. Verse 1 affirms that the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows his handiwork. Without words, nature testifies to the greatness of the Creator every day. The sun, the stars, and the order of the universe speak of an intelligent and powerful God. Yet this psalm does not stop at the natural world: it moves on to the law of the Lord, which restores the soul. Creation leads us to worship, and the Word leads us to live. Today we can look at the sky and remember that it declares the glory of God.
