This psalm is David's acrostic prayer, full of pleas for direction and forgiveness. In verse 5 he asks: guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; on you I wait all the day long. David recognizes that life is a journey that needs constant direction. God's truth is not merely knowledge; it is the way that leads us to salvation. Waiting all day expresses continuous trust, not a sporadic one. Many decisions demand wisdom we do not have; the way out is to ask the Lord for guidance. He commits himself to teach those who seek him. Today we can ask God to guide us in his truth at every step.
