Explanation

In this psalm, David declares his integrity and his love for the house of God. Verse 8 says: Lord, I have loved the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. David values the presence of God more than any privilege. The house of the Lord is the place of meeting with him, where his glory is manifested. That love for worship is not obligation; it is a desire of the heart. What we love reveals what we value. When we love God's presence, we seek the church, prayer, and the Word with joy. Today we can examine where we invest our time and affection. The place of God's presence must be our treasure.
