Psalms 8:4
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”

Explanation
Gazing at the starry sky, David wonders why God cares for creatures so small. Before the vastness of the universe, a human being seems like nothing, and yet God crowns him with glory. This verse speaks of human dignity, for we are created in the image of God. We are not the product of chance; we are visited by the Creator and made to care for his creation. God's greatness does not diminish human value; on the contrary, it lifts it up. When we feel insignificant, this psalm reminds us of our calling and our importance before God. We can live with purpose, knowing that the Lord remembers us and cares for us.
