Psalm 55 was born from the betrayal of a close friend, a pain David knew well. Verse 22 brings the counsel: cast your burden on the Lord, and he shall sustain you; he shall never permit the righteous to be moved. When trust is broken by someone dear, the pain is deep. David does not hide the suffering, but he finds relief by handing the load to God. Casting our burden is a practical decision to leave the weight with the One who has the power to sustain. God never tires of carrying our pains. Today, before any disappointment or betrayal, we can hand everything to the Lord. He sustains his own and does not allow the righteous to fall completely.
