The psalm begins with an invitation to gratitude: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. It is the refrain that runs through the whole psalm. The text gathers rescue stories: lost travelers, prisoners, the sick, and sailors in storm, all saved by the Lord. Today, this verse calls us to remember the moments when God delivered us. Every deliverance is a new reason for gratitude. God's goodness and mercy sustain every story of salvation. When we testify of his deliverances, our faith grows stronger and our praise is renewed.
