The psalm, composed of fragments of other psalms, begins with determination: My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul. It is a commitment of praise born from a firm heart. The psalmist declares that he will wake the dawn with songs to the Lord. Today, this verse teaches us that worship begins in the inner decision. A heart ready to praise does not depend on circumstances. In the midst of challenges, we can choose to sing and exalt God. Firmness of purpose transforms our life into a continuous act of gratitude.
