The psalm is a prayer of David facing the hostility of his enemies. The verse opens: God, whom I praise, do not remain silent. It is a cry for the Lord not to stay indifferent to injustice. The psalmist feels accused and cornered, but chooses to trust in the righteous judge. Today, when we are slandered or treated with evil, we can bring our cause to God. Prayer is the safe place to pour out our indignation without sinning. The Lord knows the truth and will defend his own in due time. Trust in divine justice calms the wounded heart.
