Explanation
The psalm is cited by Jesus himself as a reference to the Messiah. The verse declares: The Lord says to my lord: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. It is a royal and prophetic enthronement text. The psalm shows a king-priest who rules by the power of God. Today, this verse points us to Christ, exalted at the right hand of the Father. The certainty that Jesus reigns gives hope in the midst of life's battles. Knowing that he intercedes for us strengthens faith and perseverance. The final victory belongs to the exalted Lord.
