The psalm recalls the exodus from Egypt with powerful poetry: When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue. The deliverance is celebrated as a wonderful work of the Lord. The sea fled and the mountains skipped before the God of Israel. Today, this verse reminds us that the God who freed Israel continues to act in history. God's salvation is not a distant event but a living reality. When we trust in him, insurmountable obstacles open up. The Lord's deliverance turns slavery into freedom and fear into worship.
