The psalm contrasts the living God with the idols of the nations. The verse declares with firmness: Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. Unlike idols of silver and gold, the Lord is real, sovereign, and active. Today, this verse invites us to examine our own idols: what has taken the throne of our heart? The God of heaven is not made by human hands but is the Creator of all. Trusting him is resting our life on a sure foundation. The Lord's sovereignty brings peace, for he acts according to his perfect will. We are called to worship only the living and true God.
