Psalms 146:1
“Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.”
Published on May 26, 2026 at 11:00
Explanation
The psalm opens with a solemn call: Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul. It is the first of the final hallelujah psalms. The psalm contrasts trust in humans with trust in the eternal God. Today, this verse invites us to join our voice to the chorus of praise. The soul that praises the Lord directs its hope to the right source. Princes and rulers pass away, but the God of Jacob endures forever. Praising God is declaring that our help comes from the Most High. May our praise be a testimony of trust in the God who never fails.
