The psalm opens with an invitation to praise: Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! Praise is described as good, pleasant, and appropriate. The psalm celebrates God's care for creation and for his people. Today, this verse reminds us that worshiping God is good for the soul. Praise is not only a duty but a pleasant experience. The God who counts the stars and heals the brokenhearted is worthy of songs. In the midst of worries, singing praises restores our spirit. May our praise be continuous and spontaneous before such goodness.
