Proverbs 1:7 — Sunday, May 31, 2026

This is the verse that opens Proverbs and sets out its whole theme. Solomon teaches that true knowledge begins where God is honored. The fear of the Lord is not paralyzing terror but loving reverence that puts every area of life in its proper place. Whoever starts here confesses God as the source of all wisdom. The verse contrasts this path with the fool, who rejects instruction because he trusts himself. Today we are invited to begin every decision and every day acknowledging God's greatness. Humility before him sustains a truly wise life.
