Solomon uses the image of a tower, a symbol of protection in times of war. In the ancient city, the tower was the last safe refuge. Here it represents the name of the Lord, that is, who God is and what he has promised. The righteous run into that tower and are safe, because in God they find a firm refuge. The image of running shows an active attitude: the wise go to God in search of shelter. The name of the Lord is strong because his promises never fail. Today, in the middle of pressures and fears, we are invited to run to him in prayer. In the name of the Lord there is a security the world cannot offer.
