Explanation
God calls Abram and makes promises that would change history. The call begins with an invitation to leave his land and follow to a place God would show him. In the chosen verse, the promise expands: God would make him a great nation and make him a blessing. Abram's blessing was not meant to be kept but to flow toward all peoples. Here the people of Israel are born, and here the way is prepared for the final blessing in Christ. The text shows that faith begins with obedience and trust in promises not yet seen. Today we are invited to remember that we are blessed in order to be a blessing.
