Explanation
After the birth of Isaac, Abraham's life flourishes. Abimelech, the king of Gerar, publicly recognizes that God was with Abraham in all that he did. The chosen verse is a testimony that comes from outside: even a pagan king perceived God's presence in the patriarch's life. This happened because Abraham lived his faith visibly. When God is with us, the people around us notice. God's presence shows itself in character, wisdom, and blessing. Abimelech wanted to make a covenant with Abraham, a sign of respect. Today we are invited to live in such a way that others see God in us. Our life is a continuous testimony.
