Explanation
Isaiah chapter 3 announces judgment upon Jerusalem and Judah, whose leaders had corrupted justice and oppressed the poor. In the middle of the announced ruin comes a word of comfort for the righteous: though everything collapses, it will be well for those who walk uprightly. God does not forget those who remain faithful in times of injustice. The promise that the righteous will eat the fruit of their deeds teaches us that faithfulness is never in vain. Even when the world seems to reward evil, the Lord sustains those who obey him. Today we can rest knowing that God sees and treasures every step of obedience.
