Explanation

Isaiah chapter 10 announces God's judgment upon Assyria, the mighty nation he had used as an instrument but which grew proud. God promises, however, to free the remnant of Israel, to break the oppressor's yoke and lift the burden from his people's shoulders. The verse speaks of a day of restoration when oppression comes to a definite end. The phrase because of the anointing points to the Messiah, who brings full deliverance. We all know yokes that weigh on life: guilt, fear, addictions, pressures. The good news is that God promises to break them, and today we can call upon that same anointing of freedom.
